    Demonstration of Equivalency Between Oven Drying and Halogen Moisture Analyser Methods for the Determination of Loss on Drying (LOD) in Empty Hard Gelatin and Hypromellose Capsules
    Moisture affects empty gelatin and capsules quality, shelf life, and functionality. To determine moisture content, the drying oven LOD method is used; however, it is a slow process to perform during capsule production. The Halogen Moisture Analyzer (HMA) method is a faster alternative to the LDO method.

    In this study, several samples are analyzed. To demonstrate the equivalence of the two methods used to measure the moisture content of empty capsules, each model sample is subjected to the test and reference methods. If the confidence interval is contained within the equivalence interval, the two study methods are considered equivalent.
